The lesson schedule is divided into three sessions: fall, spring and summer sessions. The fall and spring sessions are subject to the canceled and missed lesson clause. The summer session is per lesson scheduling. All lessons are subject to the 24 hour cancellation restriction.

Students/Parents/Guardians are responsible to pay for all lessons. Lessons are to be paid on a monthly basis at the first lesson of each month. There are no refunds!

Students are guaranteed 20 lessons in the fall session. The fall session begins September 1st and ends January 17^th. The last two weeks in January are make-up weeks. If no make-ups are required the make-up weeks will become regular lessons at regular lesson rates.  Students are guaranteed 19 lessons in the spring session.  The spring session begins February 2^nd and ends June 13^th. Students are guaranteed 19 lessons in the Fall session. The two weeks June 15^th – 27^th are make-up weeks. If no make-ups are required, the make-up weeks will be additional lessons at regular lesson rates. The summer session will begin on June 29^th.

CANCELED AND MISSED LESSONS

Students/parents/guardians will be charged for all lessons per chosen session as stipulated in this agreement unless otherwise stipulated in writing or in a special hardship agreement. There are two weeks built in at the end of each 19- 20 week session for make-ups.  A 24-hour or more notice of cancellation prior to the time and day of the scheduled lesson is requested and required. If no notice is given the student forfeits their lesson, no make-up will be offered and the student or guardian is responsible to pay for the lesson.

If you know of a scheduling conflict well in advance please inform me ASAP so we might be able to work out rescheduling a lesson time in the same week. Lessons missed due to a student’s non-attendance will not be made up. Students are not only paying for the private instruction, you are reserving a day, time and space in the studio that is yours. Personal scheduling issues, not feeling or wanting to attend a lesson is not a reason for a make up lesson or non payment. Students are allowed only the two make-up lessons scheduled for the end of each session.  Vacations, i.e. holiday travel and schools breaks can be made up during the two make-up weeks at the end of each session. In the event that we have several server weather days that exceed the two make-ups, they will be dealt with on a day by day basis. All other missed lessons will be paid non make-up lessons!

Please be on time. If you are late the time lost will not be made up and the time will be deducted from the lesson for which you were late.

In the event of inclement weather, major traffic issues or severe health issues the make-up weeks at the end of the sessions will be used.  Missed make-up lessons will not be made-up.  

Teacher Absences

I will make up any and all lessons that I might have cancel. Make-up lessons can be re-scheduled during the make-up weeks or at a mutually agreed-upon time. Please make note of the make-up time and day agreed upon.

PRACTICING

When students have not practiced, they are urged to attend their lesson and practice with the teacher.

The Sorel Violin Studio offers a comprehensive music curriculum for violinist and violist of all ages, levels and beginner cellists of all ages. The private lessons offered are geared to the individual students needs, musical tastes and professional or non-professional musical aspirations.

There will be two solo recital offered, one each session. Non-adult students are required to participate in the recitals; dates and times to be determined. Adult students are urged to participate as well!

Students are required to practice at least 4 - 5 hours a week. All students are expected to be prepared for all lessons. Any students not meeting these requirements risk being dismissed from the studio.
